Saw a board outside a church, said neglect ruins friendship,
Thought I’d write a letter straight away,
I wonder how your keeping, Jenny must be talking,
Have you done, the painting for your wall,
I took a long vacation, I’m living by the sea,
Sometimes I stop awhile, I wonder where you are.
Down here there’s a harbour, where I’ve got an occupation,
Selling ice cream, watching children play,
Every days a holiday, even if it’s raining,
I’m pleased I’m not a slot machine at times,
Words upon an ocean, waves upon a page,
Sometimes I stop awhile, I think of us and smile.
Sitting in me bedroom, gingers looking lonely,
Now he’s pulling claw marks on the door,
Out there in the distance, I can see an ocean linear,
Must have dropped its anchor, till the dawn,
I’ll post this in the morning, and leave you now tonight,
Sometimes I stop awhile, and wonder what went wrong.

White sheets, and jet black hair, so I remember her,
Maybe a year or more, see a caller at her door,
Silver, alas good bye, sometimes I wonder why,

Have you seen the blind man, have you seen him there,
Stands like a statue, the wind blowing through his hair,
His sunken eyes aren’t smiling, what do sunken eyes betray,
The gold of the morning, the blackness of his day,
And a thousand people pass on by, watch summers footsteps fade and die.
On the corner there’s a blind man, have you passed him on your way,
Stands like a statue selling thankyou and good day.
Well I wonder what he’s thinking and wonder where he’s from,
Children stare at the blind man, the blind looks at no-one,
